We're a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit empowering computer science, data science, and design students to create social good by breaking down the barriers to entry in social impact spaces.

DEC 2017

We launched applications for the 2018 Civic Digital Fellowship, welcoming the Department of Health and Human Services and U.S. Department of State onboard. Two new civic technology organizations joined our partner list, too: the OpenGov Foundation and Represently.

SEPT 2017

After wrapping up a summer of civic innovation, Coding it Forward was accepted into the Harvard Innovation Lab's Venture Incubation Program.

We also welcomed our newest team member: Mariam.

JUNE 2017

Our first cohort of Civic Digital Fellows started their fellowship at the U.S. Census Bureau, while our Pipeline Interns began work at the IRS and EPA. Meet our fellows and interns and read why they were excited to be working in civic tech.

MAY 2017

We became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization — just in time to win our first grants from the Shuttleworth Foundation and the Harvard University Institute of Politics for having the "most innovative idea to reshape American civic life."

FEB 2017

We made the leap from a mailing list to a Facebook group, helping us grow beyond the confines of Harvard and to colleges and universities across America. To date, we have over 1,000 active members in our network.

JAN 2017
