Chris Kuang

Co-Founder & Board Member

Chris is a sophomore at Harvard College studying Applied Math and Economics with a minor in Sociology. He works closely with federal agencies, students, and other partners in spearheading the Civic Digital Fellowship. As a current Fellow, he loves living in Washington, D.C. and exploring all that our nation’s capital has to offer. He is passionate about politics, public service, photography, and Patriots football. Chris also holds leadership roles at the Harvard Institute of Politics and Harvard Yearbook Publications.

Athena Kan

Co-Founder & Board Member

Athena is a junior at Harvard College studying Computer Science and working on autonomous vehicles at Uber this summer. Previously, she changed her county school system's health policy from bottom third in the U.S. to “one of the very best in the nation” according to the Yale Rudd Center, helped Boston build its open data hub, and worked with the US Digital Service and the VA to make veteran cemeteries more accessible. In her spare time, she competes on Harvard's curling team, sometimes pretends she's a rock climber, and invests in student startups with Dorm Room Fund.

Neel Mehta

Co-Founder & Board Member

Neel is a senior at Harvard College studying Computer Science and is a current Civic Digital Fellow. He formerly worked as a Program Manager at Microsoft and a Software Engineer at Khan Academy. Neel’s passion for using tech for social good has taken him around the world: he has led teams to build software for the public health agency in Peru, citizen journalists in Tanzania, female entrepreneurs in Haiti, and firefighters in Boston. At Harvard, Neel serves as the Finance Committee Chair on the undergraduate student government, founded Harvard’s first open data catalog, and skateboards around campus.

Rachel Dodell

Board Member

Rachel is a senior majoring in Media Arts and Sciences at Wellesley College, and is currently a 2017 Civic Digital Fellow. As the first addition to the Coding it Forward team, Rachel manages digital strategy and engagement efforts. She previously worked at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society and at Highway Twenty, a creative agency for nonprofits and social good organizations. At Wellesley, Rachel is the Membership Coordinator of the Agora Society, a non-partisan group that promotes political involvement, and was formerly the Digital Editor of the Wellesley News. When she’s not writing words or code, Rachel is likely lost in a museum or DJ-ing at WZLY 91.5 FM, the country’s first all-female radio station.

Jeff Meisel
Jeff is the Chief Marketing Officer at the United States Census Bureau. Previously, he was a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow. 

Nick Sinai
Nick is a Venture Partner at Insight Venture Partners and adjunct faculty at the Harvard Kennedy School. Previously, he served as the U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer at the White House. 

Seamus Kraft
Seamus is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the OpenGov Foundation, as well as a Shuttleworth Fellow. He formerly served as Digital Director and Press Secretary for the U.S. House Oversight Committee. 

Natalie Moore
Natalie is a Product Manager and User Researcher at the United States Digital Service. She's currently working with the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure Veterans are getting the benefits they've earned. Previously, she worked at Peace Corps after being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso.
