Chris Kuang

Co-Founder & Board Member

Chris is a sophomore at Harvard College studying Applied Math and Economics with a minor in Sociology. He works closely with federal agencies, students, and other partners in spearheading the Civic Digital Fellowship. Chris also holds leadership roles at the Harvard Institute of Politics and Harvard Yearbook Publications.

Athena Kan

Co-Founder & Board Member

Athena is a junior at Harvard College studying Computer Science. She works on CIF's growth and expansion strategies. This past summer, Athena worked on autonomous vehicles at Uber.  In her spare time, she invests in student startups with Dorm Room Fund.

Rachel Dodell

Co-Founder & Board Member

Rachel is a senior majoring in Media Arts and Sciences at Wellesley College, and was a 2017 Civic Digital Fellow at the U.S. Census Bureau. As the first addition to the board, Rachel helps oversee CIF's communications and partnerships. When she's not writing words or code, Rachel is likely lost in a museum or listening to a podcast.

Mariam Baqai

Director of University Partnerships

Mariam is a junior at Mills College majoring in Business Economics with a minor in Computer Science. In her role at CIF, she connects tech students with social impact opportunities. Mariam was a 2017 Civic Digital Fellow at the U.S. Census Bureau, and currently, serves on the Associated Students of Mills College Senate. She is passionate about women’s empowerment, economic opportunity, and good brunch.

Neel Mehta
Neel is a senior at Harvard College studying Computer Science and is a Co-Founder of Coding it Forward. He formerly served as a 2017 Civic Digital Fellow, and interned as a Program Manager at Microsoft.

Jeff Meisel
Jeff is the Chief Marketing Officer at the United States Census Bureau. Previously, he was a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow. 

Nick Sinai
Nick is a Venture Partner at Insight Venture Partners and adjunct faculty at the Harvard Kennedy School. Previously, he served as the U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer at the White House. 

Seamus Kraft
Seamus is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the OpenGov Foundation, as well as a Shuttleworth Fellow. He formerly served as Digital Director and Press Secretary for the U.S. House Oversight Committee. 

Natalie Moore
Natalie is a Product Manager and User Researcher at the United States Digital Service. She works with the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure Veterans are getting the benefits they've earned. Previously, she was at the Peace Corps after being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso.
